Before I write anything more, I'd like to add that I've been working on this project and idea since November 2025. I may or may not have posted about it in the past, but even if I did, this is a completely different take.
Here's some info you should know about BT:
What is Benchtalks:
A secure, ephemeral chat application with E2EE messaging and encrypted image sharing, at the moment.
Known limitations:
The app doesn't have history that's being kept between sessions for other members to see. There's no limit on how many people can join a bench, the maximum amount of pictures in a conversation is 20 and the maximum size for a picture is 10MB. If you lose the admin link, the room with its data is being deleted automatically after 30 days. The links are unclickable and the thumbnails of the photos you send or exchange.
Privacy Info:
The web app is being hosted on a VPS and via encryption I've managed the messages and any data inside the chats to be unreadable to the server as well. So nobody, apart from you, knows what you're talking about, from the development team of Benchtalks. (which is currently only me)
I've gathered a small team of 4-5 peeps that have volunteered to help out by bring perspectives, opinions and the ability to test how things work.

No this is not slop, it's something silly I want to make a reference to in the new Benchtalks HQ Server.
Additionally:
I don't know if you've seen what is going on with Discord and the privacy concerns they deliberately or maybe accidentally raised to everyone with a profile in there. They couldn't handle the mass nitro cancellations at some point, because so many people are going to delete their accounts. I'd suggest to search about this by yourself so you can form your own perspective and opinion...
...and when you form it and see for yourself, you're more than welcome discuss it with me and any friends you want to bring in the Benchtalks HQ over at Stoat!
Or you can even make a room for you & your friends to discuss it at Benchtalks! Make sure you don't lose the admin link!... even though it doesn't really matter.
